Topic: My Take on This Moment in History 1 (165-200 words)
Hearing the name “A Journal of the Plague Year” makes me laugh at how absurd it is, and yet it is the reality that we all live in now. For me, other than the obvious effect of doing school through the internet, the biggest change that Covid 19 has on me is that I’m more connected to the world around me and my home. This is because I’m having to spend more time at home with my mom and dog. I’ve been playing so many board games with my mom, and have been helping her cook more. I’ve also found myself honestly feeling annoyed by her more too. As for my dog, Snowy, I’ve been walking her a lot more and for longer as it’s my only excuse to get outside. There is of course a need for social distance, but there’s also a need for Snowy and I to get outside and get some exercise. Walking the dog also counts towards my Physical Education homework. Since I’ve been walking more and longer, I’m paying more attention to my local businesses, like a flower store on my street that I’m considering using for the first time since I can’t get my mom a birthday or mother’s day gift from the school store. There’s also the local convenience store that we’ve been using as an alternative to super markets, which have extremely long lines to just get into the store. Oh yeah, my birthday was a couple of days ago. It’s definitely a little weird not having my friends over this year, but I still had fun and still played video games with my friends online while using Discord for voice chat. Other than gifts from my friends, I still got as many gifts as I would normally get. I also got more happy birthday wishes this year than last year, both from my friends and from my family, which was a little bit surprising. As I’m writing this in my room as an English 3 homework assignment, I’m listening to music, and my dog and mom walked into the room, both of which couldn’t normally happen in class. Well, I could write a lot more for the sake of this archive, but I’m over the minimum number of words I need to write, I can’t think of anything else to say at the moment, and I have to use the bathroom. Though I’m sure this archive will hear more from me in the future, as the topic is “My Take on This Moment in History 1”. What do I have to do next, Physics?
