Grocery stores are not only still out of toilet paper, meats, frozen foods and nonperishables, but store rules have been heightened. As you enter the store, an employee tallies you in because only a certain amount of people are allowed in the store at one time (approximately 25 depending upon the size of the store). Massachusetts officials have stated that anyone leaving their home should wear a mask - you are the minority In the grocery store if you are not wearing facial protection. Additionally, employees have taped down arrows onto the floor to indicate which way customers can go down each aisle so no two people are walking in opposite directions and passing each other. Some also have markings on the floor indicating 6 ft which is the recommended distance between two people. Grocery stores have also banned reusable shopping bags that customers where once encouraged to use because officials are worried that the virus could be living on the reusable bags coming from people's home. Efforts to stay safe and increase sanitation is taking a toll on being green.
